Towards the end of todays Nintendo Direct, President Iwata of Nintendo played a trailer of the upcoming Super Smash Bros for the Nintendo Wii U and Nintendo 3DS. The video started out as a possible tease for a Rainbow Road level in the game, but quickly became a revel for a new character duo for the Super Smash Bro roster: Princess Rosalina and Luma of Mario Galaxy.

As with other character intro, Rosalina and Luma got to show off some of their moves. Working together similarly to both the Ice Climbers as well as Peach and Toad, Rosalina and Luma prove themselves to be worth fighters.

Using her magic wand, Rosalina can guide Luma to attack their enemies where he can perform a spin attack or shoot star bits. They can also simultaneously attacks from the left and the right if they are surrounded by foes. Luma can even be seen saving Princess Rosalina when she is caught in a grapple. A unique ability, Rosalina can bring items to herself from a distance using her magic. On another note, the Comet Observatory from Mario Galaxy will be a playable stage on Super Smash Bros.

Super Smash Bros will release sometime 2014 on the Nintendo Wii U and Nintendo 3DS.
