Drakengard 3 has just released in Japan on the PS3, but the game's director has already spoken about his dream to release Drakengard 4 on the PS4.
When responding to a fan's request to make Drakengard 4 for the PS4, Taro Yoko said "Thank you for your message. I hope to make the game for PS4 but I can't have enough money for development."
The situation for the Drakengard franchise has been made more complicated following the closure of Cavia. They previously worked on Drakengard 2 for the PS2 in 2005, but also developed Nier. Taro Yoko himself is now working as a freelance consultant.
For Drakengard 3, Square Enix turned to Access Games, who are well known for creating Deadly Premonition. They also worked on Lord of Arcana and are working on D4 for the Xbox One.
