During the Nintendo Direct event, Satoru Iwata, President of Nintendo, revealed a new trailer and the release date of Kirby Triple Deluxe. The title which was released in Japan last month, will be available in North America on the 2nd of May, and on the 16th of May in Europe.
Kirby Triple Deluxe will feature several new mechanics and game modes. Kirby will be able to jump back and forth into the background of a level, a new mechanic that can also be used by enemies to attack you. Kirby also has access to a new ability called Hyper Nova, allowing players to eat or inhale very large objects which can be used to solve puzzles.
The title will also introduce 2 new modes: Kirby Fighters and Dedede's Drum Dash. Kirby Fighters is a competitive mode where up to 4 players face each other in various dynamic arenas, while in Dedede's Drum Dash players will take control of King Dedede as he travels from one end to the next grabbing coins, jumping across drums and avoiding traps.
Satoru Iwata has also revealed that the in-game Street Pass will include bonuses players to help players complete some harder levels, and collectables such as hidden 8-bit keychains and Sun Stones.
A price for the title has yet to be revealed.
