In 2013, gamers saw the release of the latest entry of Pokémon on the Nintendo 3DS, which received positive responses from gamers and critics alike. Seven months later, the global sales for Pokémon X and Y have broken 12 million units.

When four million units of Pokémon X and Y were sold in its first two days of release, Nintendo commented how it was the fastest selling game in the Nintendo 3DS's library. However, when comparing it to the lifetime sales of previous Pokémon games, Pokémon X and Y still have some catching up to do. The three best selling Pokémon games as of now are Black and White at 15.42 million units, Ruby and Sapphire at 16.22 million, and Diamond and Pearl at 17.63 million.

Our very own Melissa Evans gave Pokémon X and Y a 9 out of 10 and the Editor's Choice Award, praising the game for its fresh 3D graphics, character customization, and ease of access to EV training.
