Critek has announced that the PC version of Crysis 1 and Crysis 2 will lose all of its online multiplayer modes due to the shutdown of the GameSpy servers. GameSpy Technology revealed that all the servers will be shutdown on the 31st of May, forcing many developers to either stop supporting the game or looking for migration options.
Crytek has already confirmed that it's not looking into migration options for Crysis 1 and Crysis 2, but assured fans that the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of both titles will remain unaffected.
"We'd like to thank everyone who has taken up arms in Crysis and Crysis 2's multiplayer modes in the last few years, and apologize to the small but dedicated community of PC players who are still actively competing against one another," said Crytek.
The GameSpy server shutdown will affect several titles from companies like Capcom, Bohemia Interactive, and Electronic Arts.
