Square Enix's obsession with mobile ports has now extended to the Dragon Quest franchise. However, instead of starting off with the first game in the series, Square has released a newer, more well-known title from the series: Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King.
The mobile port promises revised controls for a comfortable gameplay experience whether players use one or both hands to play the game. Dragon Quest VIII also has several gameplay features that will provide gamers with a unique experience.
The Tension System lets players 'Psyche Up' their characters to increase damage output. Using this enough times in battle will awakening their super-high tension state. While leveling up, characters gain skill points that can be used to assign skills that can lead to unlocking new spells and abilities. Monsters can be captured and assigned to a monster team that can participate in tournaments or be used to assist you in battle. The Alchemy Pot mixes items into more powerful ones. Recipes can be found to create even better items. Finally, the Casino is available for players to enjoy bingo, slot machines, and roulette.
Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King can be purchased on the iOS App Store and the Google Play Store for $19.99.
