Atlus has shared two new videos for Persona 4 Arena Ultimax. The first details the games' new "Golden Arena Mode" and the second one shows off Ken and Koromaru, a tag team who is new to the game. Lets take a peek at the first video:
Golden Arena Mode will add RPG elements to Persona 4 Arena Ultimax. This mode lets you pick a character, and fight through stages while you level up along the way. As you go along, you'll gain new skills and acquire skill points that you can use for new upgrades. There are over 150 skills that can be learned. Golden Arena Mode will also feature four courses and after you beat a certain number of stages, you will face a boss. Defeating bosses will give you rare skills that you can not acquire by spending skill points.
Last week Altus announced that Ken and Koromaru from Persona 3 will be joining the fray. Ken wields a spear and demonstrates his improved strength with its reach and up and downward-hitting attacks. His persona Kala-Nemi has light attribute attacks, such as Mediarama, that Ken can use to heal himself.
On the other hand there is his partner Koromaru. He fights alongside Ken and will give opponents a tough time with his small frame and speedy movements. To make things more interesting he also also wields his Persona, Cerberus. This team will of course have a Shadow version like the rest of the roster.
Persona 4 Arena Ultimax is slated for release on August 28th in Japan and this Fall in North America for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
