Sony announced that starting next Thursday, August 28, a new PS3 model will be available in Japan. Entitled the Charcoal Black CECH-4300C, this new model includes a 500gb hard drive, and will be available at a cheaper price in comparision to the current super slim models.
As a result of this new release, the previous models, including the current 250GB/500GB black and 250GB white PS3 models, will be discontinued. Apart from a new price, Sony didn't confirm if this new PS3 model will feature any differences when compared to the previous models, or if it will be available outside Japan.
With the PS3 currently in its eighth year from release, it looks like Sony is decided to keep supporting the console for another few years. The Charcoal Black CECH-4300C will be available for 25,980 yen.
