After making an appearance on Amazon, Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition has now been officially confirmed by Square Enix. The publisher has also revealed several details about the gameplay and content that will be featured in this remaster.
The remastered version of Sleeping Dogs will run at 1080p, but no details were given regarding the game's frame rate. In addition, 24 pieces of DLC will also be integrated in this release, including the story expansion Year of the Snake, and the horror-themed Nightmare in North Point.
"It was an exciting opportunity for the original development team to be able revisit a game we're so passionate about", said Dan Sochan, United Front Games' senior producer. "We're giving old and new fans a lot reasons to pick up the game, as we've gone beyond just increasing resolution and running at 1080p. We listened to the fans: we tuned gameplay, we added to the ambience of Hong Kong, increased audio fidelity and pushed the visuals further than we could on the previous generation of consoles."
Just like we had previously reported, the game will also have a Limited Edition, which will be available at no additional cost if pre-ordered. This edition will include a 28 pages artbook with concept art that inspired the game's visual direction and art style.
You can check out the remaster's first screenshots and trailer below. Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition will be available on the 14th of October in North America, and on the 10th of October in Europe.
