Nintendo is now giving gamers the option to purchase games on Nintendo's web store and then download the games on their consoles, following the example of Sony and Microsoft. This feature appears to include only first-party games, such as Super Smash Bros.
According to Nintendo's official online store, when purchasing the game players will have the option to choose between sending the code directly to their console through their Nintendo Network ID or receive the code via email.
Players will also be able to use this method to pre-order games. Despite this, players can't pre-load the game, although it starts to download at midnight on the day the game launches.
Although this feature seems to be available exclusively in North America, Nintendo has yet to make an official announcement, which means that Europe and other continents might receive this feature as well very soon.
