Destiny's first expansion, The Dark Below, launches worldwide on the 9th of December, Bungie Studios has announced. The producer has also detailed the content that will be included in this first expansion.
The expansion will add new weapons, armour and gear to earn, as well as Legendary and Exotic items. The level cap is going to be raised to 32 and there will be five additional Bounty slots.
Perphaps the most promesing part of this expansion are the new story quests and missions. The new story will feature a new character named Eris, which has been hiding amongst the Hive shadows for several years. Eris reveals that the Hive plan to summon a god that can take over the solar system and destroy Earth, and sends players on a mission to stop them.
As for the game's multiplayer component, the expansion will add 3 multiplayer maps: Pantheon, Skyshock and The Cauldron. Other additions include a new co-operative Strike, The Will of Crota, and a new six-player Raid, Crota's End.
PlayStation players will also receive some exclusive content. This includes co-operative Strike The Undying Mind and an exotic weapon.
Players can purchase The Dark Below for £19.99/$19.99 or the game's Season Pass, which include the first and second expansions, for £34.99/$34.99. The game's second expansion, House of Wolves, will be available sometime in 2015.
