Crystal Dynamics has revealed the first dev diary for Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris. The producer discusses several gameplay aspects, including how playing with a certain number of players affects the game.
Players will be able to choose between four playable characters: the archaeologists Lara Croft and Carter Bell, and the Egyptian gods Horus and Isis. Each character will have its own role and abilities, while the archaeologists use items like torches and grappling hooks, the Egyptian gods can use their staves or create energy shields that can be used in several ways, including crossing water and protecting against traps.
Not only does the character you choose affect the gameplay, but also the number of players you play with as well. According to Crystal Dynamics, the puzzles present in the game are "dynamic" and will change based on the number of players.
"Because co-op is such a focus for Temple of Osiris we made sure that the world would react accordingly depending on how many players are in the game at one time. For example, when you add in your friends the puzzle might actually change dynamically. There could be more mirrors, more obstacles, more enemies to deal with," said Crystal Dynamics.
Lara Croft and The Temple of Osiris launches on the 9th of December for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
