Destiny is without a doubt one of the best-selling games this year, something that Bungie Studios sees as an opportunity to further expand the universe of the game. Eric Hirshberg, Activision Publishing's CEO, has confirmed that the next Destiny title is already in the works.
"Players are already asking for new content. Work has also begun on future expansion packs as well as on our next full-game release. We're very pleased with the launch and continuing engagement, and we'll update you on our progress on future calls," said Hirshberg.
Although the CEO doesn't reveal any specific numbers regarding the game's sales, he states that Destiny has currently over 9.5 million registered users. He also adds that these play on average 3 hours per day.
"I think by any measure, Destiny is off to a great start. As I mentioned, we were the largest new franchise launch of all time. And despite the large investment ... or maybe because of that large investment, we were able to be profitable from day one, and we think it's only a matter of time now before it becomes our next billion-dollar franchise," he added
Destiny's The Dark Below DLC will be available on the 9th of December. Players can purchase The Dark Below for £19.99/$19.99 or the game's Season Pass, which include the first and second expansions, for £34.99/$34.99.
