Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China releases on the 21st of April in North America and on the 22nd of April in Europe, Ubisoft has announced. Ubisoft also revealed that China will be the first of three episodes, with the other two being Assassin's Creed Chronicles: India and Assassin's Creed Chronicles: Russia.

Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China takes place in 16th century China and stars Shao Jun, the last remaining assassin of the Chinese Brotherhood. After being trained by Ezio Auditore, Shao Jun returns to Beijing to seek revenge against those that destroyed her Brotherhood.

Assassin's Creed Chronicles: India will be set in 1841, and throws players into the tension between the Sikh Empire and the East India Company. In this episode players will play as Arbaaz Mir from the graphic novel Assassin's Creed: Brahman.

The last episode, Assassin's Creed Chronicles: Russia, takes place in 1918 during the aftermath of the Red October revolution and will star Nikolaï Orelov as the main character. The Assassin Order tasks Orelov with the mission of stealing an artifact that has been fought over by Assassins and Templars for centuries.

Just like in previous Assassin's Creeds titles, each episode will offer a different experience with different protagonists, locations and art style. However, the Chronicles trilogy will offer a 2.5D action platforming experience rather than an open-world.

"Assassin's Creed Chronicles take players to three distinct civilizations and periods throughout history including the Ming dynasty at the start of its downfall, the Sikh Empire as it prepares for war in India, and the aftermath of the Red October revolution," said Ubisoft.

"Designed for masters of stealth who share a passion for rewriting history with games, Assassin's Creed Chronicles let players embody Assassins Shao Jun, Arbaaz Mir, and Nikolaï Orelov in a 2.5D reimagining of the Assassin's Creed universe. Slay from the shadows, in a collection of stunning, living paintings."

Although a standalone price has yet to be revealed for the episodes of Assassin's Creed Chronicles, Ubisoft has previously confirmed that the China episode will be available for free for those that purchased the Assassin's Creed Unity Season Pass. Episodes India and Russia will be released sometime this fall.
