XSEED Games have announced that their recent farming simulation title Story of Seasons has passed the 100,000 units sold mark as of this month, along with news about the sales figures for the fourth title in the Rune Factory series, Rune Factory 4.
Story of Seasons carries on the iconic life simulation and farming RPG gameplay made famous through the Bokujo Monogatari series' prolific 18-year history. Developed by a veteran Bokujo team and headed by acclaimed producer Yoshifumi Hashimoto, the game retains the series' signature style while adapting and strengthening its offerings through the formation of this new IP. Newcomers can now experience the satisfaction of a successful harvest more quickly with the new Seedling mode, characters and farms can be fully customized, and longtime fans can enjoy an enhanced variety of seeds, pets, and other ways to make their farms truly their own.
Rune Factory 4 is a fantasy life simulation game that combines farming and resource management with classic RPG dungeon adventuring. For the first time in series history, Rune Factory 4 gives players the option to play as a male or female hero. As the newly-appointed prince or princess, players fulfill royal duties of fulfilling requests from townsfolk, or taking a more rural approach to governing by harvesting their own fruits and vegetables to help out in other ways. The prince or princess can woo marriage candidates from among the townsfolk.
Besides the 100,000 units sold mark in North America for Story of Seasons since its March 2015 release, the publisher also announced Rune Factory 4 has passed the 160,000 units mark in North America since its release in October 2013.
For those wanting more Story of Seasons-inspired gameplay, the publisher also is set to release Return to PopoloCrois: A STORY OF SEASONS Fairytale this Winter in North America.
