After revealing that Team Ninja is working on Dead or Alive Xtreme 3, Koei Tecmo has now announced that the game is in development for PS4 and PS Vita. The two versions will have different names, with the PS4 being referred as Dead or Alive Xtreme 3: Fortune, and the PS Vita version as Dead or Alive Xtreme 3: Venus.
The game is being developed on PS4 using the Soft Engine 2.0, while Soft Engine Lite will be used in the production of the PS Vita version. The PS Vita version will also make use of the handheld's touch panel and gyro sensor.
Dead or Alive Xtreme is a spin-off of the Dead or Alive fighting franchise, but instead of fighting, the female characters of the series go to the beach to show off their skills in several activities and mini-games. Unlike previous games on this spin-off series, Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 will also feature male characters. The game will also feature improved suntansm and camera mode.
Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 is only confirmed to release in Asia and Japan, but producer Yosuke Hayashi states that the game might also be released in the west if demand is high enough. Hayashi also said that there are no plans for DLC.
A release date has yet to be announced.
