Phil Spencer Teases The Possibility Of Backwards Compatibility For Original Xbox Games On Xbox One

The Xbox One's new backward compatibility feature will launch this November, allowing users to play their Xbox 360 games on Xbox One. Some may have probably wondered if it might be possible to also play games from the original Xbox on Xbox One, but now, Xbox boss Phil Spencer has hinted that it might be possible.

When asked how much effort would it take to add backwards compatibility for games from the original Xbox, Spencer stated that this is one of the things that he asks the backwards compatibility team a lot. "I don't think it's silly. I ask the BC team this question a lot. Need to finish 360 BC for now," said Spencer.

Taking in consideration that Microsoft still has a lot of work ahead with the backwards compatibility for Xbox 360 games, it seems likely that will be quite a while before the team focuses its attention on games from the original Xbox.
