Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice, the platformer title currenty in development for Nintendo 3DS, has been delayed to 2016, Sega has announced. The game was previously scheduled to release later this year, with the delay giving Sanzaru Games more time to deliver a more polished title.
"In the grand scheme of things, while the downside is that you won't be playing the game this year, the upside is that what you'll play next year, and what fans will continue to play for years after they pick up the game, will be a stronger, more enjoyable experience," said Sega. "We think that's important, not just for this one game, but for all future Sonic titles."
Following the launch of Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric last year, which was badly received by players, it looks like Sega is currently putting more effort to make sure that these games live up to fan expectation.
