The Star Wars Battlefront open Beta will start on the 8th of October, Electronic Arts has announced. The beta will run for 4 days, from October 8th to October 12th, on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
As Electronic Arts had previously revealed, the beta will give players access to play Walker Assault on Hoth, Drop Zone on Sullust, and a Survival Mission set on Tatooine. The publisher also confirmed now that the players' progress won't carry over to the full game.
Walker Assault is a combat mode up to 40 players, with each players either joining either rebels or the Empire. Regarding Drop Zone, this is a mode where two teams of 8 players will fight against each other to claim crashed escape pods. The Survival Mission set on Tatooine, which can be played either solo or in co-op, will have players hold off against waves of Imperial forces including AT-ST's, TIE fighters, elite stormtroopers and more.
Along with the beta, the Star Wars Battlefront Companion experience will be available at www.StarWarsBattlefront.com during the same time period. This feature allows users to partake in a strategic card game called Base Command, which lets users earn in-game Credits that unlock Star Cards, weapons, and more in Star Wars Battlefront. In addition to Base Command, the Companion also lets players check out game stats and progression, customize load-outs and appearance, connect with friends, and more.
Star Wars Battlefront launches on the 17th of November in North America and on the 20th of November in Europe.
