CD Projeckt RED has announced that the Witcher 3 expansion Hearts of Stone releases on the 13th of October. Along with the release date announcement, the developer also released some new information about this expansion.
Hearts of Stone takes place in the wilds of No Man's Land and will focus around an immortal bandit captain named Olgierd von Everec, with Geralt of Rivia being tasked to bring him down. Offering over 10 hours of content, Hearts of Stone will allow players to recruit new characters, defeat new monsters and shape the storyline based on the player's choices.
The expansion will also introduce a new gameplay mechanic called Runewords. According to the developer, each Runeword will impact a different aspect of in-game mechanics, giving players the chance to experiment with various strategies and tactics.
Hearts of Stone will be available digitally for $9.99/â‚¬9.99. For those who prefer retail versions, there's also going to be a special boxed version of the expansion, which in addition to the expansion also includes two physical decks of Gwent. The boxed version will be available for $19.99/â‚¬19.99.
