The automatic switch weapon system that was featured in Final Fantasy XV: Episode Duscae has been removed from the game, director Hajime Tabata has revealed. In this system, each attack would use a different weapon, with the weapon changing automatically every time a different attack was selected.
Answering to fans' questions on the Final Fantasy XV Official Forums, Tabata explained that players will make use of the controller's D-pad to manually switch weapons. Tabata adds that this change not only prevent weapons from changing in unintended timing, but also opens up the possibility for players to create combinations of real time weapon switching. In addition, in Counter and Raid attacks players can either use the weapon they have equipped at the time or set a specific weapon.
Final Fantasy XV releases in 2016 on PS4 and Xbox One.
