Assassin's Creed Syndicate's has been out for two weeks now, and despite the positive reception from the press in general, Ubisoft states the game's sales were affected by Assassin's Creed Unity. For those that don't remember, Assassin's Creed Unity was plagued with bugs, glitches and performance issues, which leds Ubisoft to believe that Assassin's Creed fans decided to wait for positive feedback before getting the game.

"Clearly in our first week we were impacted by what happened with Assassin's Creed Unity," said Ubisoft executive Alain Martinez. Yves Guillemot, Ubisoft's boss, adds that Syndicate's sales are similar to Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag and that the sales of both games were better during their second week. "We seem to experience the same sales curve as [Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag]. Versus Unity, Syndicate was down in the first week but nicely outperformed it in its second week as it benefitted from positive word of mouth."
