Custom controller configuration is now available for standard Xbox One controllers, Microsoft has announced. This feature was previously exclusive to the Xbox One Elite controller, which is more expensive than a regular Xbox One controller.
Button remapping will give Xbox One players the option to freely reassign the controls to the player's liking, allowing, for example, to have the LB button function as X. This new feature will be available for both first-party wireless controllers and third-party wired controllers. Remapping for standard controllers will also be supported for PC, however, Microsoft states that support will be added at a later date.
Despite this addition, certain features and settings remain exclusive to the Xbox One Elite controller. You can check the differences between the two in the image below.
