Dying Light's massive expansion dubbed 'The Following' will release on PS4, Xbox One and PC on the 9th of February, Techland has announced.
The Following will feature a brand new campaign, in which the player will have to infiltrate a cult that has risen to power following the zombie outbreak. The expansion will also include a large new map, new gameplay mechanics, new weapons and drivable vehicles. Techland states that this expansion features enough content to offer players over 10 hours of gameplay.
Along with this expansion, Techland will also release a free update that will bring many improvements. The update will introduce a new Nightmare difficulty setting, new parkour moves, Bounties system, improved enemy AI, new animations, audio upgrade, and more.
"We didn't want to follow a beaten track and just re-release our game in a new wrapping with the current DLC added on," said Maciej Binkowski, Dying Light's lead game designer. "That's why for the last half year we've been working on a ton of enhancements that we're now going to make available to everyone. We're adding bonus post-game content, a Nightmare difficulty level, nearly 100 new animations, new NPC models, advanced AI behaviors, and more. One year after the original release,Dying Light will be even bigger."
In addition, the developer has also revealed that Dying Light is getting an Enhanced Edition. Also available on the 9th of February, this Enhanced Edition will include the full game, the 'The Following' expansion pack, and every DLC and content update released to far. Dying Light Enchnced Edition will be available for $59.99/â‚¬59.99.
Dying Light's 'The Following' DLC will be available for $14.99, but Season Pass holders can download it for free.
