Square Enix and IO Interactive have announced that the upcoming Hitman will launch with the less content than previously planned in order to deliver a "truly episodic game experience". Due to this change in the amount of content that the game will have at launch, IO Interactive has changed the game's pricing structure.
Originally planned to release with six campaign mission split across France, Italy and Morocco, Hitman will now launch only with the France level and a Prologue. This means that the price of the 'Hitman Intro Pack', which gives players access only to all March 2016 content, has been changed from $34.99/€34.99 to $14.99/€14.99/£11.59. As for Italy and Morocco, these levels will be released in April and May, respectively.
The game will continue to receive post-release updates throughout the year. Players can expect new campaign missions, new locations and more Contracts throughtout the months after Hitman's release, with new locations including Thailand, USA and Japan. If you purchased the Hitman Intro Pack, each new location, which include new campaign missions, will be available to purchase for $9.99/€9.99/ £7.99 each. Should players wish to purchase the full package, they will be able to do so for $59.99/€59.99/£44.99.
"We decided to take the full leap and publish Hitman as a truly episodic game experience," said IO Interactive. "Part of that decision is for that little bit of extra time to ensure every location we release is at the quality level fitting for a Hitman game. But the main driving reason is that this will allow us to create a living game that will expand and evolve over time and establish a foundation for the future "“ this is the first game in a storyline which will continue and expand with future Hitman games."
Hitman releases on the 11th of March on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
