Aksys Games has announced that they will be localizing and bringing tri-Ace's latest RPG, Exist Archive: The Other Side of the Sky, to North America.
A "side-view" RPG, similar in style and gameplay to the well-regarded Valkyrie Profile series, Exist Archive has the main characters die at the very start of the game in a massive explosion, waking up in a mysterious and surreal realm. They find out said explosion was triggered by an evil god named Yamatoga, and it turns out you and eleven other people are now immortal vessel for is soul. Imbued with powers due to this, you and your allies end up mixed up in an ancient conflict between the gods.
Similar to Valkyrie Profile, in battle each character's attack corresponds to a specific button that you'll need to time the button presses properly to deal the maximum damage possible. It's also key to mix up your party's make-up, as you'll trigger special events and attack combos by balancing your Friendship, Affection and Rival levels. There's also choices in-game which affect multiple endings that the player can end up getting by the game's conclusion.
Aksys Games currently has the game set for an October 18th release in North America on both the PS4 and PlayStation Vita in physical and digital format. The publisher also confirmed dual English and Japanese voice-over options. No European release was announced yet, but the publisher did say the following: "We're still ironing out details for an EU release, but it will make it to the EU in one form or another."
