If Atlus's announcement of the special SteelBook pre-order incentive enticed you, but you thought the series should have gotten something extra special, you're in luck as the publisher has announced a special "Burn to Fight" premium edition with a ton of special bonuses packed with awesome goodies.

This entry of the long-running The King of Fighters series includes 50 fighters, rendered in full 3D graphics that keeps the essence of the series's style but updates it using the new 3D aspect. The developers put a lot of effort into play testing and balancing, as well as streamlining the controls and overhauling mechanics such as Combo and Max Mode to make the game the most competitive in SNK's history. The developers also put a lot of effort into improving the netcode in this entry, utilizing the PS4's online architecture.

As far as the timeline goes, this game takes place several years following the previous KOF tournament. Now a worldwide business, the global KOF will decide who is the strongest as both individuals and companies with their own ambitions have come to compete. Players compete against CPU-controlled opponents to unlock the storyline.

For those picking up the special "Burn to Fight" edition, you'll get the following:

The game disc will be encased in a collectible SteelBook emblazoned with the series' fiery mainstay, Kyo Kusanagi, literally burning to fight.

Art Book
This 144-page art book will be filled with original character/stage drawings from throughout the series.

3-Disc Soundtrack
Those looking for an audio fix will be able to enjoy a three-disc soundtrack (housed in a gorgeous Mai Shiranui illustrated case) comprised of 60+ electric songs worthy of the greatest fighting tournament in the world.

Collector's Box
All the above items will be packaged in a scorching box adorned with familiar characters.

In addition, Atlus also released a new trailer showcasing the Fatal Fury team, featuring Terry Bogard, Andy Bogard, and Joe Higashi. Terry and Andy are ready to show some their opponents how they do it in South Town, while Joe simply can't wait to unload a flurry of sharp Muay Thai kicks and elbows.

When the game is released on August 23 for $59.99/CA$79.99 at retail and digitally, it will be released in a special pre-order/Day One edition while supplies last as a bonus for fans of the series. The game disc will come in a collectible SteelBook that's emblazoned with the series' fiery mainstay, Kyo Kusanagi. In addition, for the first week following launch the "Classic Kyo" DLC will be released free of charge for download via PlayStation Network.

For European fans, Deep Silver will be publishing the game over in that territory, complete with the same SteelBook pre-order/limited launch copy bonus edition the North American version is receiving.
