Kazunori Yamauchi, director of the Gran Turismo series, has revealed that the upcoming Gran Turismo Sport won't feature dynamic weather and time. In an interview with GT Planet, Yamauchi explained that this decision will allow the team to focus on the game's overall performance.
"We opted to not have the transitions in the race this time in order to raise the framerate and the quality of the image during the race," said Yamauchi. "So the user will be able to set that before they enter the race. So you'll still be able to have night races, morning, races at dawn, dusk, and so on."
Gran Turismo 6 featured dynamic weather and day and night cycles in some tracks, however, this was accompanied by performance issues. Allowing players to set the time of day and weather before a race starts is probably the best option to prevent these issues from happening again.
Gran Turismo Sport releases on PS4 on the 15th of November in North America and on the 16th of November in Europe.
