Nintendo America has once again dropped the price for the Nintendo 2DS, which is now available in North America for $79.99. This is the second price cut in less than a year, as Nintendo dropped the price for Nintendo 2DS from $129.99 to $99.99 back in August.
For those unaware of the differences between the Nintendo 2DS and 3DS, the Nintendo 2DS is considered a "low-cost" Nintendo 3DS that doesn't feature stereoscopic 3D. Although you can't play games with 3D effects, all Nintendo 3DS games work on the 2DS.
Gamers that pick up the Nintendo 2DS will also receive the digital version of Mario Kart 7 for free. Nintendo has yet to confirm if similar price cuts are in store for Europe and others regions outside North America.
