After several delays, No Man's Sky has finally gone gold, developer Hello Games has announced.

"It's happened. No Man's Sky just went gold. I'm so incredibly proud of this tiny team. 4 years of emotions," said Hello Games founder Sean Murray.

Murray confirmed that the game has passed certification in Europe, the US and Asia, and revealed that Hello Games is already working on the game's first update. In addition, Murrays states that No Man's Sky on disc is just 6GB, with majority of that file being audio.

"RC1 on the disc means Release Candidate 1. We passed cert first time in EU, US and Asia, currently here working on Japanese submission," said Murray. "Well, waiting for a build to upload really. Actually we're already busy on Update 1."

No Man's Sky releases on PS4 and PC on the 9th of August in North America, 10th of August in Europe and 12th of August in UK.
