Square Enix released details and videos that showcase the differences betweeen the PS4 and PS vita versions of World of Final Fantasy.
Both versions of the game will share the same content, with no differences in gameplay between the two. However, the PS Vita version won't ship with Japanese voice overs due to space limitations. The Japanese voice overs will be available as free downloadable content.
Square Enix confirmed that there will be no restrictions on live streaming, recording, or taking screenshots, meaning that everything can be shared via the PS4's Share button. Users can play the game via PS Vita Remote Play, however, PlayStation Vita TV will not be supported.
In terms of presentation, World of Final Fantasy's resolution on PS4 is 1080p, while on PS Vita it's 960×544. Both versions will run at 30 FPS. As expected, characters, backgrounds and other effects are shown with more detailed graphics on PS4, while on PS Vita graphics are simplified according to the performance of the hardware.
A Day One patch is currently in the works, which will add multiplayer on the PS4 version of the game. PlayStation Plus is required on PS4 to access multiplayer modes where you can battle and trade with other players. Cross-save is supported.
The two comparision videos below showcase the differences in visuals and loading times between the PS4 and PS Vita versions. The PS4 version does in fact feature more detailed backgrounds and better lightning effects, while the difference in loading times is negligible although the PS4 version seems to load slightly faster.
World of Final Fantasy will release on the 25th of October in North America and on the 28th of October in Europe.
