With the release of strategy RPG God Wars: Future Pase just around the corner, NIS America has released a new trailer for the game.

Instead of focuing on the game's story or gameplay, this trailer is actually a concept illustration trailer that reveals Mr. Takeyasu's approach to creating one of Japan's signature deities, Ookami, stroke-by-stroke. Ookami appears in GOD WARS Future Past as a Myriad God who has lost its sanity and become a Tatarigami, a powerful spirit that brings death and destruction. Mr. Takeyasu's art is featured prominently in the limited edition for GOD WARS in both the game's art book and the 27" x 38" cloth poster.

God Wars Future Past takes place in an ancient era of Japanese mythology shrouded in mystery. There was a beautiful land made up of three nations: Fuji, Izumo, and Hyuga. This land was called Mizuho. The people of Mizuho disliked conflict, honored their ancestral spirits, and lived in harmony with nature. However, over time, they began cultivating crops, forging and using metal, fighting wars, destroying nature, and neglecting to honor their ancestral spirits.

In the meantime, various locations in Mizuho suffered from natural disasters like flooding, earthquakes, and volcanic eruptions. In order to stop a destructive eruption, the Queen of Mizuho, Tsukuyomi, sacrificed her beloved daughter Sakuya to the mountain, confined her other daughter Kaguya within a bamboo seal in case of future disasters, and then disappeared. 13 years later, Princess Kaguya has grown into a beautiful woman and her childhood friend, Kintaro, saves her during a riot. She rises against her "fate to be a sacrifice," and in order to follow her own path, they both escape from Fuji and journey across Mizuho to discover the truth behind Tsukuyomi's decision.

Boasting a traditional take on tactical RPG gameplay, God Wars features an intuitive turn-based battle system that allows players to consider all facets of strategy to outmaneuver and defeat the enemies. Each unit has a Unique Job, and in addition to that, a Main Job (which decides the weapons the unit can equip) and a Sub Job (which grants units additional skills).

God Wars Future Past releases for PS4 and PS Vita on the 28th of March in North America and on the 31st of March.
