In a blog post on the official Battlefield 1 website, DICE has provided new details on the road ahead for Battlefield 1's multiplayer. This post basically explains what players can expect to arrive in the game’s multiplayer in the upcoming months.

In the past, the DICE would release season patches for the game, but this is going to chance soon. To allow the developer to bring players more of what they want and faster than ever, they has decided to move to monthly updates instead. "Turning your feedback into battle-tested improvements that everyone will love is important to us," added DICE.

Speaking of updates, the Spring Update is coming soon. It’ll bring one of the most highly anticipated features: Platoons. Finally, players will be able to organize and join forces with friends, execute swift victories, and achieve goals as one unit.

In addition, DICE is dedicating the May Update to revisions that will improve your quality of life in Battlefield 1. This includes streamlining the flow into matches (especially Operations) and improving many gameplay grievances that will hopefully make the action feel more balanced and fair. The development team is also working on a feature update to the Battlefield 1 Rent-a-Server Program which they hope to release soon.

Battlefield 1's expansions were also mentioned, with DICE providing new details on the "In The Name Of The Tsar" expansion. Each one is packed with new maps, weapons, vehicles, and game modes.

Battlefield 1 In The Name Of The Tsar will bring you to the Eastern Front, where you will fight alongside the Russian army and witness the brutality of combat and the bitter cold of the Russian winters, as seen in the concept exploration images in this post. Prepare yourself for all new tactics employed by the Russian army. Though the frost is cold, the steel is colder.

Finally, developer DICE also unveiled a new map called Nivelle Nights. The new map releases in June and seems to be exclusive to owners of the Battlefield 1 Premium Pass, at least for a while.

Here's a description of Nivelle Nights provided by DICE:

As darkness falls over the muddy battlefields around Malmaison and Soupir, French and German batteries prepare to yet again support their troops on the contested ground.

The moon, the searchlights, and the artillery lights up the night skies, exposing the vast network of trenches. Bite and hold as your foe will fight for every inch of ground. Strategy and teamwork will overcome those who have neither.

Battlefield 1 is available on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
