NIS America has released a new trailer for The Caligula Effect: Overdose, a remake of the PS Vita title The Caligula Effect. The new trailer introduces some of the new features that will be added to the remake, as well as some of the game's characters.
Ayana Amamoto and Eiji Biwasaka are two new members of the Go-Home Club, a group dedicated to leaving Mobius and returning to reality. Ayana, a second-year student, detests men and cannot be near them. Eiji is a third-year upperclassman with a penchant for business.
The Ostinato Musicians—μ's composers—see Stork and Kuchinashi joining their ranks. Stork is an odd individual who loves peeping on women and has the power of mimicry. Kuchinashi is calm and doesn't have much to say, relying instead on the gas mask-like device covering her mouth.
In The Caligula Effect: Overdose, the line between fact and fiction becomes blurred when people escape from the real world into a beautiful realm called Mobius. Created by a sentient vocaloid program named μ (Mu), Mobius transforms all of its inhabitants into high school students, and allows each individual to create their own "ideal self" within this realm. However, as you begin to remember fragments of memories from the real world, you realize something is wrong. You must escape from this false paradise with your fellow students and return to reality.
The Caligula Effect: Overdose releases in 2019 on PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC.
